As of this writing, there are over 140 orphaned packages in the Chakra Community Repository, some with as many as 9 votes. Some of these orphaned packages are out of date, some are broken, but others work perfectly, and were just disowned because their maintainer could no longer take care of them.


Among the orphans are many games (assaultcube, angband), development versions of popular apps (bangarang, smplayer2, kdevelop, xbmc), tools for interacting with different types of phones and other devices (Windows CE, Android), and much, much more.


If you have a bit of time on your hands, please take a minute to look through the orphaned packages, and see if there are any you would like to adopt.


If you currently maintain packages in CCR, and would like to put some of them up for adoption, and only disown them if someone else is willing to adopt, just leave a comment in the forum thread with the name of your package and a link to it's CCR page.


The CCR Adopt-A-Thon will remain open for one month (until mid-June), after which all orphaned packages that are not required by another non-orphaned package will be removed from the CCR. If you want any of these packages to stay in the CCR, please go and adopt them now!
